SceneShrink Support

Quick help for compression, file naming, and exports.

Getting started

  1. Import your video
    • Tap “Pick a video from Photos” or “Import a video from Files.”
    • Larger videos may take time to import. You’ll see “Importing from Photos…” during this step.
  2. Choose a size (Preset)
    • Mid Size (1080p), Smaller (720p), Smallest (480p), or Custom.
    • SceneShrink avoids upscaling. If a preset would exceed your video’s original resolution, it will be grayed out with “Not recommended (upscales).”
    • If your video is already small, you’ll see a hint suggesting “Rename only” or a smaller preset.
  3. Name your file
    • Let SceneShrink name it using your profile and details, or toggle “Enter full file name manually.”
    • If the manual name is invalid (empty or contains illegal characters), you’ll see a validation message and the button will be disabled until you fix it.
  4. Compress & Save
    • Tap “Compress & Save.” You’ll see immediate feedback (“Preparing…”) followed by a progress bar.
    • When complete, the file is saved to Files → On My iPhone → SceneShrink → Auditions.
    • Use “Share / Manage…” to send or move the file. While compressing, your videos may appear “grayed out” at the new location. Once the videos are done compressing, they will appear in color.
